Visitation
Every day, church pastoral staff members and caring volunteers visit church members in the hospital and nursing homes. They also visit those that are homebound.
Pastoral Counseling
The First Assembly pastoral staff is here to serve the congregation. Part of that service involves counseling in times of difficulty. Staff members are trained in Christian counseling. Counseling involves using Biblical principles to find the root of problems and come to solutions.
Pre-Marital Counseling
The ideal time for marriage counseling is before the wedding. The church offers a complete program for engaged couples that includes workbooks, videos, and counseling sessions to help prepare them for married life and what they can expect from each other and themselves.
Baby Dedications
This is a simple, short ceremony performed before the congregation during Sunday morning services. It is not infant baptism, and the child is not believed to receive salvation from the event. It is merely a public statement before God and fellow Christians that the parents pledge to raise their child in a loving Christian home and serve as examples so that, at the earliest age of accountability, the child can accept Christ as his or her savior. The pastor reminds parents of their major responsibility and charges the church to serve as a loving environment for the child's physical, emotional, and spiritual development.
